The 2008 Reading Festival entertained a crowd of more than 80,000 music fans who rocked and swayed to the tunes of many rock, metal and indie acts. The shabby tents didn’t take from it but added to the feel of the event. There were better washrooms than last time, and then of course there was the brilliant musical feast! Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and The Killers headlined in front of a charged crowd who went wild with the combo of beer, beats and hard rock! Indeed the crowd was hungry for more rock and made it clear to the not-so-heavy bands like the Plain White T’s.
The Avenged and Slipknot had a last minute cancellation but no worries because their substitutes Baby Shambles and The Cribs rocked the place with electrifying performances! Alternate musicians Crystal Castles saw a rise in popularity with a huge audience for their performance.
